Web Showcase
The First Nations Web Showcase is open to outstanding websites and web-led experiences crafted by First Nations designers, developers, storytellers and creators.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this category:
- The work must be created by a First Nations freelancer, studio or organisation (individuals or teams that self-identify as First Nations – Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander).
- The entry must be a website or web-led experience that demonstrates excellence in storytelling, design, innovation or community impact.
- Projects of all types are accepted, including but not limited to portfolios, cultural experiences, campaign sites, interactive documentaries, digital exhibitions, and community platforms.
- Entries must have been published or launched publicly prior to submission.
- There are no entry fees, and this category is free to enter.
Submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel with expertise in web design, development, accessibility and digital storytelling.
What We’re Looking For
The First Nations Web Showcase celebrates excellence in web craft created by First Nations designers, developers, storytellers and creators. This category recognises both culturally driven and commercial work, highlighting the breadth, skill and impact of First Nations-led digital practice.
We are seeking entries that:
- Are created or led by First Nations practitioners, regardless of whether the subject matter is cultural, commercial or client-based.
- Demonstrate excellence in user experience, design and interactivity, with thoughtful consideration of audience and context.
- Show innovative use of web technologies to enhance storytelling, functionality, engagement or accessibility.
- Reflect strong creative and technical decision-making, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Are authentic in their intent and execution, with integrity in authorship, representation and delivery.
Judges will look for work that showcases high-quality design and technical execution, as well as the professional impact, creativity and leadership of First Nations talent across the web industry.
Your Submission Should Include:
When submitting your entry, please provide the following:
- A live URL to the work you are entering.
- A written overview (up to 500 words) describing the project, its intent, and why it should be featured in the First Nations Web Showcase.
- Credits, including the First Nations individuals and teams involved in design, development, content and cultural guidance.
- Any context or cultural considerations you wish the judges to be aware of (e.g., protocols followed, sources of guidance, community collaborations).
