City of Cockburn

The overall objective for the City of Cockburn website was to bring their 13 year old website into the modern age in a new framework that is beautiful, responsive and accessible. The key objective was to a create a stunning user interface while also creating a radically accessible user experience. Accessibility consideration was at the core of the project, and Alyka worked closely with the City of Cockburn and their 3rd party accessibility provider, WebKeyIT, to ensure it was kept front of mind through the entire creative, development and content population process. The website features one the most robust and comprehensive search engines ever seen on a local government website, and even includes the ability to search the text within PDF and Word documents. Challenges for this project came in many forms, not least, empowering and enabling 80%2B content editors to populate hundreds of pages with accessible content. Alyka are extremely proud of the outcome achieved hand in hand with WebKeyIT and the City of Cockburn.
